A COVID-19 RESPONSE PROJECT

HAPPY! - by Charlotte Souter

Happy! Is a play about a dystopian world where happiness is currency. Everyone wears percentage trackers to assess their happiness. The higher your percentage is, the more percentage points you have to spend in the world.

Harry is happy with his life. Harry and his wife, Flora, finally have enough percentage points to apply for a baby. But one day, Harry is hit by an asteroid and his percentage falls dramatically low. He’s sent to a rehabilitation centre to try and cure him of his decline.

Happy! was one of the final 3 scripts that made it through to the 2nd Round of Forward Dialogue and went on to be the script awarded the £800 and script consultation.
