Kat and Phoebe are sisters trying to make ends meet, whilst Kat works at a pay day loan company trying to work her way out of poverty with the money she makes from this predatory business, her dyspraxic sister Phoebe stays at home experimenting with alchemy the secret science of turning metal into gold. When Phoebe’s experiment finally works they have the opportunity to change their lives and the town they live in forever.
A science fiction play about money, creativity and how we decide something’s value. A funny and entertaining drama that’s asks complicated questions about finance, class and family.

CREATIVES
Matthew Gabrielli is an award-winning neurodiverse playwright based in Birmingham. He describes his work as ‘telling tales and having adventures’ his work explores speculative fiction, weird tales and mythology, he loves these genres because they are big popular dramas driven by ideas. He’s interested in popular theatre which takes place in non-traditional spaces and believes that theatre should be a good night out. In 2018 he was a winner of Masterclass’ Pitch Your Play and his play Zombiegate received a rehearsed reading at Theatre Royal Haymarket. His work has previously been performed at Liverpool Playhouse Studio, Midlands Art Centre and The RSC’s Other Place.
Julian trained at The University of Hull in Drama and Theatre Practice. Previous productions as director include HOT MESS (Lion and Unicorn), Fifty Years of Trying (Abridged) (Camden People's Theatre), The Dad, The Husband, The Man (Old Red Lion) Tronald Dump (Theatre Royal Stratford East), The Insider's Kitchen (Theatre 503), Truth and Lies, Live is All, The Date Night and Sally's Shoulder (Southwark Playhouse), Laughing Wild and The Man (University of Hull). Previous productions as assistant director include HAMM: Perfectly Processed Education (RADA Festival), Free (Southwark Playhouse), The PIllowman and Call Me, Love Me (University of Hull)
Burnley born Hannah Hobley achieved national acclaim at the tender age of 18 when she starred as Chantelle Gsrvey on TV series Beniform (ITV). She then went on to star in Cranford (BBC) with many recognisable household names. In 2018, Hannah starred in Manchester Fringe hit Westerniized! (Death By Pie). Hannah spent the majority of 2019 touring Dubai (Kevali Productions). During the festive period, you will usually find Hannah in pantomime with Anton Benson Productions.
Beth is originally from mid wales but now living in Manchester. She is a 2015 graduate of Manchester School of Theatre, since graduating she has worked with numerous theatre companies across the UK. Theatre credits include: Celia in As You Like It (Here to There Productions, Ludlow Castle) Costard in Love's Labour's Lost (Cambridge Shakespeare Festival) The Girl in The Mother (Here to There Productions, Courtyard Theatre Hereford)

Shamir is a British-Canadian actor who trained at Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
Previous credits include Mission: Impossible-Rogue Nation (Paramount/Skydance), Eastenders, Holby City (BBC), The Winter's Tale (Guildford Shakespeare Company) and multiple commercials worldwide. He also writes and produces short content which have been selected for film festivals internationally, including the BAFTA-Qualifying Carmarthen Bay Film Festival.
